Non-union Broken Arrow employees will see some extra money on their next paychecks. The Broken Arrow City Council approved giving employees an immediate 1% raise.
If sales tax revenues come in as projected by the end of the fiscal year, they'll get another 2% raise. "We are very fortunate as a community to have such dedicated employees," said Mayor Mike Lester
"Any time you can hold the lines and get a little increase we are very appreciative of it," said Broken Arrow Horticulturist Chris Ohden.
It's the first time in three years that raises have been an option. The same offer has been extended to the police and fire departments. All union members will have to vote whether to accept the raises.
